1. What I like about blogging?

It allows me to keep track with my work. (Most helpful when I want to check about the content for my portfolio). It also allow me to reflect on the topics I've learnt on that day. Another thing is that I can share my opinion ( example, about the 8tv task - thanx maam, for replying) and also my findings (example, peterweatherall in youtube - hope that others can benefit from it). I also gain many information from reading other people's blog. (example, the existance of Cyberlink Power Director)

2. What I do not like about blogging.

Hm.. What is it? Nothing much, I think.. Maybe just the need to update eac and every week. Sometimes I was too busy and was not able to post any entry that week so, I need to post TWO entries for the next week. Well, that is just me being lazy, isn't it? Terrible me... So, basically, nothing that I don;t like about.

3. What have I gained from blogging eg. Language skills, improved fluency, critical thinking, improved thought processes, technology skills etc.

My language skills, of course! Hm.. Wait.. Come to think of it.. I think, all mentioned above. Of course, it helped my language skill. I have to constrct sentences, right? And then, my fluency.. Well, It does help me to think in English instead of thinking in Malay and then translating it into Englisg.. Critical thinking.. Yes, yes.. Reflection... What are the impact of the lessons taught to be me as future teacher... Techni skill? I never write in blogs before. For God's sake, I never had any blog account! And, now, look! I even know how to 'dress' my blog space! Hehehee.. I'll surely continue with this 'blog' thing and keep myself an online diary.. Watch out for it!

Err.. I guess.. I've answered that in the earlier question.

5. what I like about the course

Hehehhee.. I think, you can find this all the way in all of my earlier entries. I have learnt so many things. So much new information that were so alien to a techno-freak like me. I also like the fact that this course allow me to get familiar with technology - video editing, softwares and so on.

6. what I do not like about the course

Too many things to be printed out for the portfolio... Uhuhuhuu.. the ink for my printer is so expensive... Thank God that our allowance was increased... But still, it's not enough.. Uhuhuuu.. Another thing is, if only there is enough computer for each of us in the lab.. It's quite cramp in there..

7. what I have learnt from the course

A lot! Well, I think I have mentioned it earlier on in the 3rd and 5th question. But the one that I think I learn the most in this course is to enhance my techno skills and teamwork. Techno skills.. Well.. This course is everything about tech, right? Video editing, creating my own video, sound, picture downloading and so on. Talk about teamwork, I learn to adapt and work with new friends. As maam ordered us to mix around and create new groups, I had the chance to try and work with other people more, know them better and get new friends. I was able to see life in a bigger perspective and as the Malay idiom said, 'tak kenal maka tak cinta' and now, I can proudly claim that in this short semester, I get the chance to know my coursemates more than what I did for the last FOUR years.

8. What I do not expect but have learnt from the course

The point mentioned above, I guess. I came to this course to learn about technology but I ended up gaining more, learning something that is not in any syllabus.

9. what I expect but have not learnt from the course.

Hm... Nothing much, I guess. I came in with a blank mind, just hoping that I would learn something about technology. And, here I am, learning more than what I expected. Thanx maam...

10. If I can change anything about the course, state what it is and explain.

Hm... What is it? The vanue, perhaps? The room is too cramp. Maybe it would be better if each of us can have our own PC (mentioned this earlier). Hm.. What else? Nothing much, I guess... I enjoyed it, just the way it did... Sayonara, PBEY3102..

Software, Hardware, Tupperware?

Uah.. Finally.. I'm back for the class... Anyway, we handed in our assignment today. Hahahaha!! Bye bye assignment 3!!! Don't want to see you again!!! Now, I can focus on my study and the portfolio.. Hm.. Hope I can really score well.. Need another 0.02 to get CGPA of 3.75. Uhuhuuu.. I'm terrible.. Maam.. Please give me an A.. I really need it.. (Azian yang mengada-ngada!) Anyway, I'll make sure that I strive hard enough and then, everything is in God's hand..

Hm.. Today's lesson! We learn about software! Those softwares seems so interesting. I want to play.. Uhuhuu.. Well, actually, when I was small, my dad bought me a Mathematics Learning Games CD named The Adventure of Rayman. I also have another CD (for science) which I got free from buying Nestle's Koko Crunch (this was about 2 years ago). Well, it never occured to me that those CD could be used in classroom learning. I only thought that it was only for individuals, having fun with games at home.. Hm.. I really need to broaden my view of classroom. It seems that there are so many things about technology that I never tought could be used in classroom. Maybe this is because my previous teacher never used any software in their teaching. Hm.. Poor me.. Today's generations of pupils are so lucky. I'll make sure that MY pupils will have the chance to discover a whole new dimension of 'classroom learning' and provide them with effective, interactive and interesting lesson.

Hm.. Guess.. I'll stop right now. Eh, wait! Is this supposed to be the last entry? Ala... I'm going to miss you.. Well.. All 'hellos' will end with 'goodbyes', right? Saa.. Sayonara...

Raya is Destroying Me....

Raya has passed.. 7 Days ago.. Uah.. I love Raya.. But at the same time... it's destroying me... Just like chocolate cakes and cigerates.. (Bear in mind, I DON'T smoke. It's just a metaphore) Anyway, my family's tradition during Raya really kept me busy (we had relatives visiting from 10a.m till 1 a.m every day for the whole week! Non stop! Don't believe me? Try come to my hometown and see it for yourselves.. Uhuhuu) Anyway, the main thing I wanted to say is that I had no time to complete any of my assignment. I only managed to borrow my cousins' text book and photocopied few pages that were in my concern.

Well, frankly, there is something else I need to write about. I did not go to today's class. Sorry maam! At first, I was supposed to celebrate my Raya at my mom's hometown - here in KL. However, my family has changed their mind and wanted me to ge back to Penang for Raya. At that time, I could not even get the ticket to go back home. Lucky that my brother (the one teaching in MRSM Kuala Lipis - I think I've wrote about him in earlier entries) was going back by car so, I managed to join him. But, due to some reasons, he could not send me back to KL on time for my classes so, here I am.. Still in Penang.. Trying my best to complete my assignments.. Hm.. I'll only be back tomorrow...

Anyway.. I suggest for dear readers (especially for my corsemates) to look up your topics in textbooks. It really helps as it stated the 'things you should learn in this unit'. So, you should have a basic idea on how to develop the lesson plans. Hm.. Actually, when is the due date of this assignment? Aiya.. Terrible Azian.. It must have been that you were not paying attention during maam Foziah's class. Again, sorry, maam..

Satu Hari di Hari Raya~

It's the last week of class before our raya holiday. Hehehee.. So excited! I haven't went back to Penang since... Err.. Since... So long, I can't remember... (>_<) Finally, holiday... But... There's still much to do by raya. Tonnes of assignment. Hm.. Student life... Uhuhuu.. It's okay, Azian. Good luck, good luck!

Today, we presented our Power Point Presentation. My group's topic was on Virtual Realia. Actually, the article given to us was about a guy, promoting his website named Virtual Realia. Hm.. Amirah and I tried our best to show the website to the class but it was in vain... The website was designed in 1997 and it is no longer exist.. Uhuhuu.. Sorry class... We really did try to share our findings with you... However, the topic we got were very intersting. I never knew that there was such thing as virtual realia before. If only the website is available, I'm sure there will be lots of resources and aids for us to explore and manipulate in our teaching.

Hm.. What else to write... Oh yeah! We were given another task. I was so excited to start looking for the articles but I wasn't sure about the criteria for the articles but... The task question is not there in ADEC yet. Mark requested maam to post it so, I'm pretty sure that it will be there soon. Anyway, while waiting for the task question, I'll give myself a short break and have a nice lil' cup of Old Town White Coffee. Hehheee.. Aiyo, Azian.. You keep giving excuses to be lazy. Well, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, isn't it? Hehheee... See? More excuses! Terrible Azian!

Sorry... Let's come back to our main point. PBEY 3102!!!! Hm, This terrible Azian hasn't started with her 3rd assignment yet.. I think I need to buy a Year 1 KBSR English text book to understand more about my topic before I start doing my lesson plans.. Hm.. Goodluck to me! See ya'!

P/s_ Still remember about my laptop? It's fien now! Hehehehee.. Don't ask me how it ghappened. I accidentally push the DVD rom quite hard while I was cleaning my room one day and when I looked back, it went in! The driver went in! I even tried reading some CDs and DVDs and it functioned well! Alhamdulillah.. Rezeki bulan puasa.. Hehehe.. Thank God..

Goodbye assignment 2!!! Hehee.. I actually completed it yesterday only. Hehehee.. Shame on me!~ I try my best not to do last minute work again. Hm.. Anyway, about the second assignment.. Manipulating and Assessing Videos for the ESL Classroom. I found out that there are many interesting videos from youtube that can be used in ESL classroom. Try browsing this author: peterweatherall. "Most of Peter`s music is for children and has educational themes. He makes the TV shows: Penguin TV and Jumping Jellybeans, broadcast in New Zealand and Australia" (www.youtube.com) So, I think, for dear readers who are teachers or teachers-to-be, you should subscribe to this author.

Welcome assignment 3!!! We were given our third assignment today. My topic is Story Time: Year 2. Hm.. Now, I need to find some group mates.. Earlier on, maam has ordered us to do a task on lesson planning and the four main skills - listening, speaking, reading and writing. Thanks to that, I feel that this assignment would not be such a burden to me. I think that I can really give all out and show what I am capable of. Hehee.. So boastful.. But actually, it's true. I finally realize why maam kept on bombarding us with tonnes and tonnes of weekly tasks. It is for us to learn and to prepare us in doing our assignments. It really, really helped and helps a lot.

Next, we were required to use the Microsoft Office Publisher to create name cards, posters, pamphlets, book cover and newsletter. It was very interesting. I never had the chance to use this application (or is it software?) before and now, maam has given me the opportunity to try and manipulate this software. And, guess what? It is really fun! And, as I mentioned before, subjects taught are always related to each other. What I'm trying to say is, what maam has taught me in this subject helps me in other subjects. I need to do a poster in my EL subject - Gender dan Pekerjaan. Now that I know how to use Microsoft Office Publisher, the task would be easier! Yey!!! Never realized such useful and interesting software is there, hibernating in my laptop.. Huh.. Thanks to its techno-freak master..

Hm.. Talking about my laptop.. Uhuhuu.. My DVD drive is broken.. Hm, these kind of whining should not be in this blog, isn't it? Sorry.. I'm just so depressed.. No money to repair.. Uhuhuu..

Presenting~ Ooh... (@_@)

Hehehee.. now THIS entry is for THIS week. Hehee.. Shame on me! Anyway, today is the presenetation for last week's tasks. Actually, due to the time constrain, my group was not able to presents our part. But, it's ok.. We were able to listen to the other 8 groups. 8! Lucky number! Hehee...

Anyway, now the I finally found out about the others' topics (Learning with and without course book etc) I find that all the topics presented was so interesting and relevent to us as teacher-to-be. We need to know the advantages and disadvantages of certain things such as the '4 half an hour sessions'. I never really thought that there are reasons for the school and the depatment to design the school timetable as such! Uah! I love to learn new things! New infos! Hm, the book that maam had (where all of our notes were taken from) is so interesting. If only maam had asked everybody to have a copy of it and make it as our reference. But, it's okay. Now, everyone had pices of the book. I just need to borrow it from them, photocopy, and have myself a very useful book! Hehee. As what an old Malay advertisement said 'Kalau nak hidup, kena la bijak!'. Well obviously, you need to be able to manipulate things around you to move further in life AND study! That's why people said, study SMART!


Hehee.. I guess, I'll stop now. Hope that next time, my internet connection won't be as terrible as last week. Then, I would be able to write an entry on time. Hm, sorry.. It's fasting month (^_^"). Hehee.. See ya'!

I'm Sorry...

Actually, this entry is for last week... I'm so sorry.. The internet connection at my place was terrible. Wargh!! I want my fast U-Mobile back!! Hm.. Well, maam was absent last week but she did leave some tasks for us. Such a responsible lecturer. I hope that all educator would be like her - not abandoning their pupils no matter where they are. I can still remember, when I was in my primary school. When I pass by certain class, I could see the teacher sleeping and the pupils were running here and there. Maybe he's not feeling well but at least, he should consider about the pupils, especially when they are only primary pupils who are HYPERACTIVE!!!

Anyway, lets go back to the main point - the task that maam gave us. We need to summarize a topic into Power Point and present it to the friends. We? Presenting in front of the class? Well, that really motivated us to produce a quality work so that we won't embarrass ourselves in front of our class. Hehee.. Nice tactic, maam! I surely can apply that in my teaching later on.

Hm.. About the e-book that we handed in on the same day. Well, I'm surely people will be a bit pissed off looking at my booklet because the printing was here and there (er.. How to say? In Malay - 'senget'). This is all because of my printer. I don't know what's wrong with it but it caused nearly all my printouts like that. Uhuhuu.. So sad.. I just bought it last year.. And it's a 3 in 1... Quite expensive.. Uhuhu.. And again, I'm sorry maam, that you have to bear with my 'senget' printouts..

Flash Flash!!!

More assignments... More tasks... Uhuhu.. But, at least, they are pair works. Hehee... Hm.. An e-book... That would not be too hard... I guess... Just using the MsPower point, isn't it? I'm quite familiar with it. So.. Hope that I can produce good e-book.. Hehhee.. And the assignment is about video. Well, NOW I have to apply ALL of my knowledge and skills learnt earlier in this course. Uah.. Now THIS is challenging! I need to save the clip from Youtube, separate the song from the video clip as well as the pictures. Fuh! Then I have to fill some kind of table about using the clip in my lesson. Really need a lot of thinking.. Hm.. Then, I need to do all that with ANOTHER video clip which I have to choose on my own.. Uah... So much work.. So much hard thinking.. But, I guess this is what you call a student's life, isn't it? Well, at least Pn.Foziah is kind enough to negotiate on the due date with us. Thanks, maam!!!
Oh yeah! We were also taught on how to create our own '.gif ' animated pictures http://www.gickr.com/ !!!! Never taught that it is so easy to create interesting and attractive animation. Even better, I can choose ANY pictures that I want to be animated. Uahahaha!! This will surely come in handy as I am diong my assignments as well as in developing my teaching aids for my lessons in times to come.. Hm, if I managed to create my own animation, I'll surely try to upload it here for your view..

The Grammy Awards Goes To...

Me and my partner!!! Hahahaa.. Sorry.. I did not post this blog last week. The holiday was such a busy for me. My uncle was hospitalized in Ampang Puteri and we had to go back and forth from home to the hospital. Then, my brother was assigned to teach in MRSM Kuala Lipis so we had to journey all the way from Penang to Pahang to send him there. Uah..
However, we were still able to complete our Video Editing Task. Thank you so much to my partner (Mr. Izzuddin that is) for landing me such a big hand. Though I was at all over the place (Penang, KL and Pahang) and he was in Sabak Bernam, we still managed to complete our task. We used Yahoo Messenger, phone calls and he even sacrificed to come back to KL earlier than what he has planned so that we could meet up and finish the task. Thanks so, so much!
Now I know why Pn.Foziah ordered us to do works in pairs or groups. It really taught me about cooperation, responsibility, toleration and sacrifice. Maam, thank you so much! Whoa.. I am in debt with so many people now... Well, as people used to say, human can't live alone. We are dependent upon each other...
Hm.. The video has completed. I really had fun during the production of the video. And as I was looking for some resources for the video, I realized how 'illiterate' Malaysians are. I could see people ignoring the signboards everywhere, everytime. And as browse through the internet for more pictures, I found out that this problem does not occur in Malaysia only. However, since our video's focus is about Malaysian, we did not include the pictures of people from other countries.
All in all, I really had fun and learnt a lot in the production of the video. Hope that all viewers will also enjoy the video as much as I did in producing it. See ya'!

Hollywood, Here I Come!!!

We were taught about video editing today.. The examples shown were very interesting. it really inspires me in the sense that I am motivated to create even better videos, hoping that next time, the lecturer may use My video as one of the examples for my juniors. Hm.. I'll be so~ proud if that really happens.. But, as what maam used to say, 'Nothing is Impossible'... Anyway, I think this lessson is very important since sometimes, I did find some videos to be used in my lesson but, some of the content in that video may not be suitable or sometimes, I would want to include few scenes from different videos in one video viewing session. So, as we were taught about this lesson, I really hope that I would be able to apply this knowledge in improving my teaching aids..
However, there are cirtain things that I would like to comment.. I think, we don't have to do that '8TV Do You Think You Can Dance' task.. The first task is good enough for us to learn to apply and explore the knowledge in Video Editing. If we were to do only one task, we could concentrate more on it and surely would be able to produce even better movies.. Another things is, both of our task was something that have nothing to do with primary education. They are both about something that is entertaining yet, have little academic value.
So, what I'm trying to say here is that, one task is good enough to have us to explore video editing skills. Secondly, if we were still required to do two tasks, one should be more towards education.

Audio Editing

Compiling several song into one, cutting some parts of the song.. All these are possible now! Hahaha!!! actually, I'm having a problem with my Video task for another subject... the problem is, I wanted to use the 'Old McDonald Song' by Barney and Friends but, I did not want the whole verse. I want only the chorus part. So, what to do?
Thank god maam Foziah taught us about the audio editing and now I can easily complete my task. Yatta!!! See? Subjects taught are related to each other. We just need to see the link and you would be able to improve yourself in many, many aspect!
Hm.. What else.. Well, just some tips to dear readers. You may not have any software for photo editing but you can easily use the software that comes together in the CD of your digital camera. As for audio editing, you can also use mp3 cutter if you are really stuck.. Well, I'm not that goo also and I only heard some guys talked about the tips above. So, let's try together and endure a whole new experiance.

As The Week Goes On...

We were taught about various ways of photo editing. Hey hey!!! Now I know how to have bodies like angeline Jolie's! Er.. Correction, now I know how to HAVE Anglelina Jolie's body. Hehee... Anyway, all this while I always find interesting pictures that can be used as a teaching material however, there is always something in the image that made me think twice. Now, I know how to overcome all those problems and this will surely allow me to manipulate more pictures for my teaching uses. Yeeha!
Oh yeah! Don't forget about the interesting slide show presented by the lecturer. It was fun and really cracked me up. Hehee.. Never thought that maam was so 'teenage-hearted'.
Next, we were asked to form groups for our third assignment. Again, I am lucky to have groupmates that I could easily blend into. We made up our minds to make a story about helping a baby elephant. Now, all that we have to do is to hunt for pictures. Hehee.. This is why I can apply my knowledge of photo editing! I'll try my best to contribute as much in creating this e-book. Hope that I would not 'amputate' the original pictures with my 'lack-of-crteativity-and-skill' attitude..

Ah~ Second Week...

This time, we were divided in groups of five.. The grouping was.. Hm.. Okay.. But, I'm pretty lucky to have groupmates who I can blend in to. We give out works and started resources hunting. Our 'Hunters' were able to locate few interesting videos only in a day! Wow! Impressive!! Now, it's my work to prepare the tutorial.. Well, it shouldn't be THAT hard, isn't it? I'm not really good in techs and now I have to give a tutorial.. Well, it's okay.. I can always learn, right? Goodluck to me!!!
